5 explosive devices found in Chechnya
Federal soldiers have found and neutralized four radio-controlled self-made explosive devices of high capacity near the village of Ersenoy in the Vedeno district of Chechnya. Had these bombs been set off, several dwelling houses would have been seriously destroyed, which would have led to victims among civilians, reported a spokesman for the regional headquarters on the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus. According to preliminary information, members of Suleiman Soltakhanov's illegal armed unit acting in the district may be involved in the placing of the bombs.
Another high-capacity explosive device has been found in flood-lands of the Fortanga River near Achkhoy-Martan. The bomb was made of a basket filled in with explosives and different metal items increasing damaging action.
Law enforcement agencies are taking measures to establish and search for people involved in the placing of the bombs.
