Georgian frontier guards detain Russian dry cargo ship

Officers of the Navigation Division of the Georgian Frontier Department detained the Russian cargo ship "Tsirkoniy" on June 16. Spokesmen for the Frontier Department stated that the ship had violated the international navigation rules. It was detained it the area of water of Georgia's Adjarian Autonomous Republic. The ship proved to be without freight. It was on its way to Taganrog and illegally entered the territory of the 119th segment of the Georgian-Turkish border, which is closed to navigation. The "Tsirkoniy" together with it crew is in the port of Batumi now.

Georgian frontier guards have detained 11 foreign ships for different violations this year.
