New political union created in Abkhazia

The social and political movements Amtsakhara and United Abkhazia have created a new political union and demand the government's resignation. The two movements have formed the Coordinating Board. Merab Kishmaria, Vladimir Nachach-ogly, Vitaly Tarnava, Alkhas Kvitsinia, and Roman Gvindzhia represent Amtsakhara in the Coordinating Board. Sergey Shamba, Sergey Bagapsh, Artur Mikvabia, Said Tarkil, and Nugzar Agrba represent United Abkhazia in it.

It is noted in the joint statement adopted during the first meeting of the Coordinating Board on June 16 that "the executive power is unable to make an impartial assessment of the situation that has arisen and to establish reasons for the contradictions between society and power that periodically appear." The Amtsakhara and United Abkhazia movements accuse the executive power of the lack of the "clear manpower policy", interaction with different branches of power, of the inability and unwillingness to fight against corruption and criminality, and of the inefficiency of the economic course. The new political union calls on representatives of the country's executive power "to show political responsibility and voluntarily resign their commission."
