Access to South Osetia temporarily denied for Georgian journalists
The South Osetian information agency Res claims that Georgian TV channels, namely Imedi, Rustavi 2, First Channel, Trialeti and Mze, incorrectly cover the course of parliamentary elections and other developments in the breakaway republic. The agency emphasizes that "because of the unprecedented information war conducted by the Georgian media, they are allowed to enter South Osetia in special cases though their entry into the Republic of South Osetia is temporarily forbidden."
At the same time, the Res agency reports that correspondents for the Russian TV channels NTV, TVTs and ORT, the Rosbalt information agency, the Russian Newsweek magazine, the Our Version program, French, German, Turkish and Azerbaijan media visited South Osetia last month.
