Ramzan Kadyrov reports that majority of militants from Chechnya killed in Syria
Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has reported that a lot of Chechens, who have returned from Syria, have adapted to civilian life and are engaged in combating terrorism. According to the Chechen leader, the major part of Chechen militants, who joined the "Islamic State" (IS), recognized as a terrorist organization, was neutralized.
In September 2013, it became known that militants from the regions of Northern Caucasus had formed the unit "Al-Muhajirin" (immigrants) in the city of Aleppo in northern Syria. It was headed by Abu Abdurakhman, a Chechen native. Most members of the grouping had the experience of fighting in the Caucasus.
Ramzan Kadyrov has emphasized that the Chechen authorities have helped a lot of young people to return from Syria to peaceful life.
Earlier, Ramzan Kadyrov has reported that three militants, killed in the course of the counterterrorist operation (CTO) in Grozny, were trained in Syria and were plotting a series of major terror acts. Meanwhile, the Chechen leader mentioned Aslan Baisultanov among the killed suspects. However, on October 11, Aslan Baisultanov was detained in Moscow. Ramzan Kadyrov has also reported about the killings of the leaders of the Caucasian militants in Syria; however, the information has not been confirmed.
