Features of Russian democracy to be under discussion in Krasnodar
The roundtable discussion titled "How Must Democracy Work in Russia?" will be held in Krasnodar on June 24. Vladimir Rimsky, head of the sociological department of the INDEM Foundation, Moscow, will present his report to the participants, as announced by the Creative Union "Southern Wave". The following questions are expected to be touched upon during the roundtable discussion:
- Is the development of democracy realizable in Russia?
- What features does Russian democracy have and what features will it have?
- What is the role of the elections and political parties, public examination, community of experts, federal and regional bureaucracy in the development of democracy?
- What advantages do democratic political regimes have over authoritarian ones?
- Problems of corruption and their influence on the development of the market economy and democratic political regime in Russia.
