Human rights activists await repressions in Chechnya
The International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights and the Moscow Helsinki Group have raised their concern in connection with the developments in Ingushetia. The human rights activists' statement reads that the reaction of authorities to the rebel attacks can be unequal, which will result in the infringement on the international humanitarian law and human rights. The Russian authorities must not return strong actions against the Chechen population for the attack, they believe.
