Two detained refugees set free

Two out of 36 people detained in the Chechen refugee camp MTF Altiyevo two days ago have been released. They are Akhmadov brothers, Idris (b. 1987) and Timerlan (b 1980), reported head of the North Caucasian office of the Society for Russian-Chechen Friendship Imran Ezhiev. Idris is a disabled man of the second group. Both the brothers are beaten.

In the words of the Akhmadov brothers, all the detained people were held in the Nazran town police department at the beginning and then they were moved to the building of the Chechen Interior Ministry. The refugees were offered during interrogations to confess the assistance to the rebels who attacked Ingushetia on the night of June 21-22. The brothers refused to do it and were savagely beaten. Other detainees were subjected to beatings too, the brothers said.
