Children's rights discussed in Krasnodar territory

Ella Pamfilova, chair of the Commission on Human Rights for the Russian president, has met with leaders of a number of public organizations based in the Krasnodar territory. The meeting was organized with the assistance of the Civil Society to Russian Children union of public associations. The meeting discussed problems of children's rights in the Krasnodar territory and difficulties which face nongovernmental organizations acting in behalf of children.

The meeting also discussed issues of interaction between government institutions and public organizations, prevention of violence in schools and shaping a healthy lifestyle, social and legal aid to children and families in a difficult situation, development of the press for children, programs for legal and moral education and "ethical living," development of family forms of upbringing of children, support of talented children, and legislation on charity.

The meeting resulted in a declaration of cooperation and interaction. With that view, leaders and activists of the public organizations will regularly meet at a Forum of Nongovernmental Organizations of the Krasnodar territory.
