KBR resident accused of storing firearms and ammunition

The case against a resident of the village of Kashkhatau, charged with storing a shotgun, two pistols and ammunition, has been sent to the court in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR).

According to investigators, on December 9, 2015, during a search of the household of the 32-year-old resident of Kashkhatau, Cherek District, a hideout was found in his garden with a sawn-off shotgun, a gas and a traumatic pistols, converted to fire live ammunition, and numerous machine-gun and pistol cartridges, says the press service of the KBR's Prosecutor's Office.

The villager is charged under Article 222 of the Russian Criminal Code (illegal possession of firearms and ammunition). His criminal case was sent to the Cherek District Court, says the Office's website. The defendant faces up to four years in prison.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on January 25 another case against a resident of the KBR was sent to the court of the village of Chegem-2 on charges for keeping a grenade and drugs.
