In Yerevan, activists oppose violence against women

Today, Northern Avenue in Yerevan has hosted the annual international dance flash mob "One Billion Rising".

According to the public organization "Society without Violence", which organized the action, the dance flash mob was attended by about 20 young women from Yerevan and regions of the country.

"Yerevan hosts the dance flash mob for the second year already. Starting from 2012, on this day, different countries throughout the world organize similar actions," the agency "News-Armenia" quotes Marina Adamyan, a member of the organization "Society without Violence", as saying.

The international flash mob "One Billion Rising" is organized "in order to stop violence against women and girls," reports the website of the NGO "Society without Violence".

According to the information of the Armenian Police, in 2015, Armenia registered 784 cases of domestic violence in comparison with 678 cases in 2014.
