Ramzan Kadyrov's spokesman demands to bring Ilya Yashin to criminal responsibility

Alvi Karimov, the spokesman for Ramzan Kadyrov, has appealed to the General Prosecutor's Office and the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) with a request to consider the issue of institution of criminal proceedings against Ilya Yashin in connection with the publication of his report on the situation in Chechnya and his statements made in the course of presentations.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 23, at the Moscow office of the "PARNAS" Party, its co-Chair Ilya Yashin held a presentation of his report entitled "Threat to National Security". According to his own explanation, Ilya Yashin has prepared the report in order to "open the eyes of the Russian society" on the fact that with the connivance of the Kremlin, Chechnya head Ramzan Kadyrov commits actions that pose a threat to national security of Russia.

"I have filed an official complaint to the General Prosecutor's Office and the ICRF and requested them to bring Ilya Yashin to criminal responsibility," the "Interfax" quotes today Alvi Karimov as stating.

Alvi Karimov has emphasized that he has filed a request not as the spokesman for Ramzan Kadyrov, but as an honorary citizen of Chechnya. According to him, the report and speeches of Ilya Yashin "contain coarse slander, insults and unfounded accusations against Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of the ChechenRepublic."

Alvi Karimov claims that the report prepared by Ilya Yashin "is of a pronounced provocative aggressive nature directed against Ramzan Kadyrov and the entire Chechen nation."
