Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan report night shelling

This night in the Karabakh conflict zone the ceasefire agreement was generally observed, except for some sections, the press service of the NKR's MoD has reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of April 2, the situation in the Karabakh conflict zone was escalated: the parties to the conflict were engaged in hostilities with the use of tanks, multiple launch rocket systems, and aviation. At noon of April 5, the sides declared a truce, with periodic reports of violation of the agreements. On April 8, starting from 3:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m., the parties to the conflict declared ceasefire in the conflict zone to search for bodies of killed soldiers, officers, and civilians.

According to the MoD, the Azerbaijani party has shelled the Karabakh positions in the northeast (Martakert) and southeast (Gadrut) directions of the frontline.

Besides, as they stated in Stepanakert, a special unit of the Azerbaijani Army tried to make a sortie in the southern direction, but it was noticed and thrown back, the "Interfax" reports.

In its turn, the Azerbaijani MoD claims that over the past 24 hours the Armenian party violated the ceasefire for 132 times, also using 60-millimetre mortars.

According to the Azerbaijani party, the shelling was delivered both from the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, and from the pre-border territory of Armenia.
