People in Gali district wait for presidential election with hope
"Residents of the Gali district believe many things in the republic will change for the better after the change of power," Chairman of the Gali District Assembly Otar Latsuzbaya said addressing the 4th congress of the opposition social and political movement Revival (Aytayra) on August 7.
Providing security of the population and central authorities' paying attention to the residents of the district will contribute to the greater integration of the Gali district into the economy of Abkhazia, Mr Latsuzbaya holds.
In his opinion, it is necessary to develop the agroindustrial complex of the district. "There will be no economic growth without investments, without the restoration and extension of nut and citrus plantations," Mr Latsuzbaya noted.
The Chairman of the Gali District Assembly pointed that it was important for residents of the Gali district "to feel residents of Abkhazia and to be protected." Among the problems that require attention on the part of the central authorities, Mr Latsuzbaya mentioned providing residents of the Gali district with passports and Gali youth's teaching in the institutes of higher education in Sukhum.
