Presidential candidates dissatisfied with activity of PR specialists
In the evening of August 12, Movsar Khamidov and Abdulla Bugayev, candidates for the Chechen presidency, roundly denounced the activity of PR specialists working in Chechnya.
The dissatisfaction of the 2 out of 7 contenders for the post of head of the republic was caused by results of the survey conducted on the territory of the republic from 4 to 8 August, which were published by the information and analytical department of the Chechen Ministry for Nationalities, Information and External Relations recently. According to these data, no less than 53.5% of the respondents are going to vote for Alu Alkhanov, 19.6% are ready to vote for Abdulla Bugayev and 4.1% - for Movsar Khamidov.
"These figures are exaggerated," Movsar Khamidov said overnight, during TV debates broadcast by the state channel of the Chechen Republic. "People see it. They are politicized enough and understand everything well." Mr Bugayev's speech was categorical too. "I'd like to tell those PR specialists who work here not to manipulate the people's consciousness. Let people make a normal choice," he said.
