Casualty reports from conflict zone differ

On the night of August 15-16, the agreement on the cessation of fire in the zone of the Georgian-Osetian conflict was broken. This case was already the forth one when the truce was violated in the area of the villages of Sarabuk and Dmenis, which are shelled from Georgian positions. Both the sides sustain losses: three injured people were taken to the republican hospital in Tskhinvali, two people are said to have been killed and several people are said to have been injured on the Georgian side.

Georgian TV channels have spread information about 15 killed Osetian soldiers. South Osetian authorities deny these reports.

Meanwhile, the Caucasian Knot correspondent has been told in the press center of the South Osetian Defense Ministry that approximately 70 people have been wounded in skirmishes for the last two weeks, many of them being civilians.

As for the Georgian side, the number of people killed is 48, according to the press center of the South Osetian Defense Ministry. They say the Georgian side hides this information being afraid of the burst of people's dissatisfaction with the policy of solving the South Osetian problem by force.
