Mobile communication 'inaccessible to people' in Chechnya
In spite of all assertions by high-ranking officials, mobile communication is still inaccessible to the absolute majority of people in the Chechen Republic. Many residents of Grozny say the Megafon mobile network is accessible only to a few people. Only high-ranking officials of the government and ministries and officers of security agencies can use mobile phones until now.
Asked about the increase in the number of people using mobile phones on the territory of the republic, a source in the Chechen government said: "The agreement has been reached that the number of mobile phone users in our republic will be increased by 20 thousand in September. These questions are purely technical by nature.
