Armenian female activists demand to renounce territorial concessions in Nagorno-Karabakh

The Armenian authorities should abandon the negotiations that jeopardize the security of Nagorno-Karabakh people. This was stated by the appeal, signed by Larisa Alaverdyan, the first Ombudsperson of Armenia, ethnographer Granush Kharatyan, and publicist Karine Danielyan.

The public figures have accused Azerbaijan of ethnic cleansing and war crimes, including those committed during the escalation of the situation in the conflict zone in April 2016.

The authors of the appeal have called on to take into account the Azerbaijan's aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh, which threatens the fate of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, including during international negotiations.

They believe that it is necessary to abandon the attempt to resolve the Karabakh conflict through territorial concessions dictated from outside and to achieve legally competent participation of Nagorno-Karabakh in the negotiation process. According to the female activists, the republic should be represented by the elected authorities that will defend the right of people to self-determination.

The appeal has been sent to the authorities of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the OSCE Minsk Group, the US authorities, Russia, and France.
