Presidential election held in Abkhazia
The counting of votes in the presidential election in Abkhazia has been completed. According to preliminary information, Prime Minister Raul Khadzhimba was elected President of Abkhazia. He won 101,500 votes (52.84%). Sergey Bagapsh, director of Chernomorenergo Company, took the second place with 64,500 votes (33.58%). Former foreign minister Sergey Shamba won 19,050 votes (9.92%), Yakub Lakoba - 5,250 (2.73%), and Anri Dzhergenia - 1,800 (0.94%).
At the same time, the central election commission does not hurry to issue any official statements concerning the winner of the election.
