Repeated presidential election to be held in Abkhazia
Today Abkhazian President Vladislav Ardzinba has signed a decree to hold a repeated election of the head of the republic, "taking into consideration the fact that the Supreme Court of the Republic of Abkhazia did not made a decision concerning claims filed with it in the period of time set by the Constitution Law on the Election of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia and the fact that the decision made by the Supreme Court on October 28-29, 2004 is being interpreted ambiguously."
Early in the morning today the Abkhazian Supreme Court canceled the decision to recognize Sergey Bagapsh's victory in the republican presidential election which it had made several hours earlier, in the evening of October 28.
