US condemns agreement on joint grouping of Russian and Abkhazian forces

US Vice President Joe Biden has reiterated the US support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and condemned the ratification of the agreement on setting up a joint grouping of forces of Russia and Abkhazia, reports the White House.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 2, the State Duma ratified the agreement on the joint grouping of forces of Russia and Abkhazia. It is concluded for the period of the Russian-Abkhazian Treaty on Alliance and Strategic Partnership and defines mission, formation, deployment and use of the joint grouping of the Russian and Abkhazian armed forces.

"US Vice President Joe Biden has reiterated US support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders and condemned Russia's ratification of a treaty with Abkhazia on setting up a joint armed force," states the message posted on the official website of the White House on November 4.

The report also notes that the above statement was made by US Vice President during his phone conversation with Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
