On October 31-November 6, five persons fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
During the week from October 31 to November 6, 2016, five persons perished in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus, while there was no information about the wounded ones. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other public sources.
All the casualties are alleged members of the armed underground in Dagestan.
Attacks on law enforcers
On November 3, in Khasavyurt, in the course of a special operation, agents of the Federal Security Bureau (FSB) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) tried to stop a suspicious VAZ-2109 car for inspection. Its passengers opened automatic fire at power agents and tried to escape. In a shootout, four suspected militants were killed. They were pre-identified as members of subversive and terrorist grouping: Khamzat Khakiev, born in 1993; and Mukhamad Makhmudov, born in 1991, who, according to investigators had been wanted since 2015 for attempts on lives of law enforcers. Their accomplices Ibadula Baidullaev, born in 1995, and Mikhradzh Movludinov, born in 1995, were also killed.
On November 5, in the area of the state farm named after Gereikhanov in the Suleiman-Stalsky District of Dagestan, a man opened fire on law enforcers and was killed during a shootout. The casualty was pre-identified as Rasmin Magomedov, a member of the "southern" grouping of militants, suspected by power agents of setting fire to the school in the village of Djuli.
Detentions
On November 2, it was reported that as a result of a special operation conducted in Karachay-Cherkessia, a suspect of involvement in the armed underground was detained. The special operation was held by fighters of a special rapid-response detachment of the National Guard Division for Karachay-Cherkessia, which acted jointly with the republic's MIA.
