Trump's victory will not change US policy in Southern Caucasus

Donald Trump, a billionaire the Republican candidate, has won the 58th US presidential election, by receiving 288 votes of the members of the Electoral College. Experts from the countries of Southern Caucasus agree that no major changes in the US policy in the region can be expected.

The US-Georgia relations are unlikely to change, says political analyst Gela Vasadze. According to his version, Georgian authorities will continue their "tactical manoeuvring between Moscow and Washington started in 2012," the "News Georgia" writes.

Giya Volsky, one of the leaders of the ruling "Georgian Dream" Party, also believes that the US-Georgian strategic partnership is under no threat.

Nodar Kharshiladze, a political analyst agrees with him. In his opinion, the USA is the country, whose president will not destroy the existing world order.

In the opinion of Stepan Safaryan, a political analyst and the head of the Armenian Centre for International and Security Affairs, the victory of the democratic candidate would have been more beneficial for his country.

Mr Vasadze also notes that Clinton had had good relations with the Armenian Diaspora in the US since 1991.

In the opinion of Elmira Tariverdieva, the head of the Russian Service of the Azerbaijani edition "Trend", Azerbaijan for Trump is a familiar country, as billionaire made investments there.

Russian politicians have also expressed hope that Trump's victory will contribute to a more constructive US-Russia dialogue.
