New director of "Makhachkalavodokanal" appointed in Makhachkala

In Makhachkala, after the mass poisoning of city residents and the arrest of the former head of the Joint-Stock Company (JSC) "Makhachkalavodokanal", Timur Magomedov is appointed the acting director of the JSC. This was reported by the Mayor's Office of the capital of Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Makhachkala, the mass poisoning of water occurred after on October 27, residents reported about supply of dirty water to their houses on completion of the works at the Miatli Hydro Power Plant (HPP). Magomed Murtazaliev, the head of "Makhachkalavodokanal", was arrested on suspicion of providing services that did not comply with consumer security requirements.

On November 9, acting director Timur Magomedov was introduced to employees of the "Makhachkalavodokanal" as "an effective manager with knowledge of the specifics of the sphere," reports the press service of the Mayor's Office of Makhachkala.

The new top manager shall implement a plan to replace the process of water purification with liquid chlorine with the treatment with hypochlorite, to involve in the Makhachkala water supply system the third branch of the Miatli water pipeline and the Tarnir treatment facilities, as well as to build new pumping stations, reported the City Mayor of Makhachkala.

Besides, the Mayor has also noted that the "Makhachkalavodokanal" needs to abandon the old method of repair of damaged sections.
