Damage from hurricane in KChR estimated at hundred million roubles
On November 21, in the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR), a strong wind, gusts of which reached 34 meters per second, damaged social facilities and private households in the city of Cherkessk and in four republic's districts – the Nogai, Adyg-Khabl, Prikuban and Abaza Districts.
Five villages of the Prikuban District had power outage for more than six hours. By the evening of November 21, a regional emergency state was declared in the republic. Today, November 22, classes in schools and kindergartens in Cherkessk, as well as in four other districts of the republic, were cancelled.
According to the latest data, in the KChR, wind has de-roofed six schools, four kindergartens, six cultural centres, five medical institutions, over 10 other administrative facilities, 25 apartment houses and 85 private households.
Three people were injured; two of them are treated at the Republic's Hospital.
According to preliminary estimates, made by authorities, the caused damage amounts to about a hundred million roubles.
