Armenian, Azerbaijan foreign ministers meet in Prague
A new meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijan foreign ministers finished in Prague on January 11. Commenting on the results of negotiations, spokesman for the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry Metin Mirza told the Caucasian Knot correspondent that there were no changes in positions of the sides but there was some approach. Azerbaijan's position remains unchanged: the Karabakh conflict can be resolved only on condition of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, the liberation of occupied territories, and refugees' return to their native places, Mr Mirza said. Armenia has begun to show interest in the resolution of the conflict, he added. Mr Mirza expressed hope that the meeting in Prague could form a base for the resolution of the conflict. He did not exclude the opportunity that the Azerbaijan and Armenian foreign ministers would meet again in February.
