US raises concern about election fraud in Azerbaijan
The US Embassy to Azerbaijan has announced in a press release that diplomatic representatives along with representatives of some international organizations monitored municipal elections on December 17 and revealed numerous violations of the law. Observers registered cases of filling ballot boxes with false voting papers at polling stations. Besides, they registered "mass violations" of the electoral legislation by heads and members of election commissions. Heads and representatives of local executive authorities intervened in the work of election commissions and prevented them from doing their duties, reads the press release. In view of it, Ambassador Reno Harnish intends to put the question about the violations disclosed by the US observers in the course of the municipal elections in Azerbaijan to Chairman of the Central Elections Commission Mazakhir Panakhov.
