Krasnodar: 18-year-old invalid fined for taking part in rally of Navalny’s supporters

This morning, Krasnodar continued trying people detained during the anti-corruption rally on March 26. Among those administratively punished, there is an 18-year-old Category II invalid, who has been fined by 16,000 roubles. In total, according to law enforcers, 90 people were brought to the police from the rally.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 26, many cities of Russia, including its southern regions, hosted actions of supporters of the oppositionist Alexei Navalny. Protesters demanded to investigate facts of corruption in the upper echelons of Russian power. The actions of Navalny’s supporters turned into mass detentions also in Sochi, Rostov-on-Don and Makhachkala.

The Leninsky District Court of Krasnodar has tried at least six detainees, said the advocate Alexei Avanesyan. According to his story, all his clients were found guilty under Articles 20.2 and 19.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the established order of organizing or holding meetings and rallies, and disobedience to the police) and sentenced to three days in jail each. Only one detainee – an 18-year-old Category II invalid – was fined by 16,000 roubles.

"We intend to appeal against [the verdicts]. The court failed to request video records of outdoor surveillance cameras and interrogate eyewitnesses," said Alexei Avanesyan as quoted by the "Yuga.ru" portal.
