In Dagestan, 16 teachers dismissed on suspicion of extremism

In 2016, the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) initiated the dismissals of 16 schoolteachers who were close relatives of militants and followers of extremist ideas. This has been reported today by Abdurashid Magomedov, Minister of Internal Affairs, at a meeting of the anti-terrorist commission.

According to the Minister, similar measures are being taken in respect of students of higher education institutions.

"Students who are followers of extremist ideas are expelled from institutions," reported the Minister of Internal Affairs as quoted by the "Interfax".

No comments of teachers regarding their dismissals were received.
