Arthur Panov complains to ECtHR about violation of his rights
Arthur Panov, a citizen of Ukraine, accused of plotting a terror act in Rostov-on-Don, has appealed to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) with a complaint about violation of several articles of the Convention on Human Rights. The defendant also intends to seek the cancellation of his pre-trial restriction measure. Arthur Panov informed of the above the "Caucasian Knot" in his letter sent through his advocate.
Arthur Panov, a 19-year-old resident of the town of Krasnodon of the Lugansk Region of Ukraine, is accused of plotting a terror act.
Arthur Panov filed a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights in mid-May.
"The complaint is about violation of Articles of the Convention on Human Rights: in particular, Article 5 (right to liberty and security of person) and Article 6 (right to a fair trial). All the decisions on extension of pre-trial restriction measure since the moment of my arrest were enclosed to the complaint. We will try to get Ukraine included in the case as third party. And now I intend to seek the cancellation of the pre-trial restriction measure by the ECtHR's decision at a minimum. I will continue to demand from Russia to return me to Ukraine," said Arthur Panov.
