Magomed Aushev's relatives report deterioration of his health condition
Magomed Aushev, subjected to torture after his detention by law enforcers, suffers from persistent headaches, his vision has deteriorated sharply, and his family is short of money for his medical treatment in a specialized rehabilitation centre. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by relatives of Magomed Aushev.
On December 20, 2014, Magomed Aushev was detained on suspicion of opening fire from a car of the wedding party cortege. According to his relatives, Magomed Aushev was tortured after the detention.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the investigation into the Magomed Aushev's complaint about torture was suspended and resumed after the detention of officers from the Ingush Centre for Combating Extremism (CCE), suspected of using torture, which resulted in the death of Magomed Daliev, a resident of the republic.
"It is expected that the investigation into the case will be completed only by late August," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Zurab Geroev, the chief of the press service of the Investigating Department for Ingushetia of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
"The above takes place, since the people appear who in different years were also subjected to physical violence and torture by CCE agents," the source said.
According to Magomed Mutsolgov, the leader of the human rights organization "Mashr" and an author of a blog at the "Caucasian Knot", "he is aware of at least about seven guys who were injured by policemen from the CCE."
"Almost everyone who got into the CCE was subjected to humiliation and torture. This unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and its chiefs were notoriously well-known. Many people, and not only in Ingushetia, were aware of the cases of atrocities committed over a high fence," the human rights defender told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
In a conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, Movlatkhan Ausheva, the mother of Magomed Aushev, has said that her son "feels bad." "My son suffers from persistent headaches, and he does not sleep well, he feels pain in his kidneys."
The woman has also noticed that she is "much concerned over the deteriorating vision of her son." "He was beaten severely on his head, and, apparently, his eye nerve was also hurt.
The mother of Magomed Aushev has emphasized that he should be sent to a specialized rehabilitation centre. "However, medical treatment in such a centre is expensive. We are not able to pay for it," Movlatkhan Ausheva noted.
