Victor Zolotov: in Chechnya, Rosgvardia fighters shot dead because of domestic conflict

In the Shelkovskaya Cossack village, the tragedy was caused by the emotional reaction of a fighter whose wife was evicted from the military unit. This has been reported today by Victor Zolotov, the head of the National Guard of Russia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 23, Marat Gadjiev, a fighter from the National Guard of Russia ("Rosgvardia") in Chechnya, opened fire at the barracks and fatally wounded four of his colleagues. The shooter, a native of Dagestan, was killed.

Victor Zolotov, the head of the National Guard of Russia, has confirmed the version that Marat Gadjiev had a conflict with his commanders and associated the shooter's motives with his emotional state and housing problems.

"That act contained no signs of extremism and terrorism," Viktor Zolotov has said today at a meeting of the Federation Council.

The version of the Marat Gadjiev's conflict with his commander based on the housing problem has been confirmed by Shamil Khadulaev, the leader of the executive committee for the Dagestani branch of the "Russian Union of Afghanistan War Veterans", who referred to the information got from a colleague of Marat Gadjiev.

"According to his colleague, earlier, he (Gadjiev) lived together with his wife in a dormitory room. But later he was allegedly forbidden to live together with his wife, since they had no children. That could provoke a conflict. However, I believe that even in such a situation, no one has the right to commit lynching," Shamil Khadulaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
