Four servicemen killed in Chechnya
Three federal servicemen were killed in a rebel attack in a suburb of Chechnya's capital Grozny on 23 June, a source with republican law enforcement agencies said.
He said the incident occurred in Aldy in Grozny's Zavodskoi district. One of the rebels was destroyed by response fire and the rest managed to escape.
Besides, unknown attackers fired automatic weapons at a checkpoint of servicemen from the Zapad (West) battalion (consisting of ethnic Chechens) not far from Krasnaia Turbina in Grozny's Staropromyslovskii district. One of them was killed, another three were wounded.
An officer of the district police division was wounded as a result of the detonation of a bomb in Urus-Martan.
