IED found after CTO in Stavropol

An improvised explosive device (IED) has been found in an apartment rented by a suspect killed in the counterterrorist operation (CTO) conducted in Stavropol.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that last night an unidentified person allegedly blew up a grenade in an apartment building in Stavropol and after that he was killed. 130 tenants were evacuated from the house. Later, they returned to their apartments.

The man who committed the explosion in Stavropol was identified as a resident of Karachay-Cherkessia. The law enforcement bodies suggest he was a member of the "Zelenchukskaya" militant grouping. His apartment was searched.

In the apartment of the killed suspect, law enforcers found an IED of up to 5 kg of TNT (trotyl) equivalent. It was taken to a safe place and destroyed, the TASS reports with reference to a source from the law enforcement bodies for the Stavropol Territory.
