Construction of mosque for militaries over in Chechnya

The mosque for Muslim-servicemen built on the territory of the motorized rifle division of the Southern Military District in Chechnya can house more than 50 believers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that builders began erecting the mosque in the Naur District of Chechnya in November 2017. Its opening is scheduled for early 2018, the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to its source in the Southern Military District.

The mosque is next to the Orthodox church. The funds to build it were raised by militaries' and civilians' families working in the division's territory.

In the opinion of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of Chechnya, the new mosque "will not only allow soldiers to perform religious rituals, but will also unite the military contingent."
