Gas technician accused of death of three residents of Chechnya

The criminal case initiated against the employee of the JSC "Chechengaz", accused of negligence, which caused an explosion of domestic gas in a private house and the death of three residents of the Nadterechny District, has been sent to the court.

The gas explosion occurred in August 2017 in the village of Bratskoye; as a result of which a 16-year-old boy received grave burns; and three other persons were killed, a source from the Investigating Department for the Chechen Republic of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has reported. According to law enforcers, the explosion was caused by a gas leakage from the overhead gas pipeline, located near the household. Investigators believe that the leakage was not detected and liquidated by the inspector-locksmith, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Relatives and friends of the locksmith believe that he is not guilty of what had happened. "Kazbek was simply appointed guilty for the death of these guys. Not he, but his bosses should have been punished," one of his relatives told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The JSC "Chechengaz" refused to comment on the case until the verdict passed by the court.
