Resident of Chechnya arrested for recruiting to IS
A resident of Chechnya, suspected of persuading an Ingush woman to go to Syria to take part in hostilities, has been placed behind bars.
According to investigators, in August-September 2015, and from November 2017 to April 2018, the 29-year-old resident of Chechnya was engaged in recruiting potential militants in the neighbouring Ingushetia.
A criminal case has been opened against him for inclining people to join the "Islamic State" (IS) a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, says the website of the Investigating Department for Ingushetia of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
He is under threat of 8-15 years in prison or life imprisonment.
