Georgian MPs support demands voiced by Zaza Saralidze
The parliamentary investigating commission has issued a recommendation to start the criminal proceedings against one of the main witnesses in the case on the murder of teenagers in Tbilisi. Zaza Saralidze, a father of one of the murdered schoolboys is seeking such a decision from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 1, 2017, two teenagers were stabbed as a result of a fight which took place near a school in Tbilisi. One of them died on the way to the hospital. The second was hospitalized in a critical condition and later died. On July 2, Zaza Saralidze, a father of one of the murdered schoolboys, started a hunger strike in a yard of the Georgian MIA. He demands from investigators to detain one of the main witnesses, whom he considers involved in the murder of his son.
The interim parliamentary investigating commission to investigate the case on the murder of two teenagers in Khorava Street in Tbilisi has supported the recommendation of Sergi Kapanadze, a member of the "European Georgia" Party, to institute the criminal proceedings against the witness in the case, the arrest of whom Zaza Saralidze is seeking. "Eight members of the commission voted 'for', while six others were 'against', and one abstained from the voting," the "Georgia Online" reports today.
Meanwhile, today, Zaza Saralidze, the father of one of the murdered teenagers, has continued the protest action at the MIA's yard.
The man has announced his intention not to leave the MIA's yard until one of the participants in the fight, involved in the criminal case as a witness, is detained for taking part in the murder of his son.
