"European Georgia" nominates its presidential candidate
On July 21, the "European Georgia" Party announced nomination of David Bakradze as its candidate for the Georgia's presidency, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
David Bakradze ran for the presidency at previous election in 2013 and scored 21.73% of the votes, losing to Giorgi Margvelashvili, nominated by the "Georgian Dream" Coalition, who won the election with 62.11% of the votes.
According to Gigi Ugulava, one of the party leaders, who officially presented David Bakradze as the party's candidate, Georgia "needs a president who can improve citizens' living conditions; and with whom the country's future can be predicted."
According to Giorgi Bokeriya, an MP from the "European Georgia", Georgia's progress is only possible after the defeat of the ruling "Georgian Dream" Coalition and the victory of the "European Georgia", which "has proved that it can protect the country's interests."
The presidential election will be held in Georgia in autumn 2018, the specific voting has not been defined yet.
