Over 20 persons recognized cruelty victims in Astrakhan kindergarten

Today, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has reported that the owners of the kindergarten in Astrakhan, who were arrested after a video was posted with roped children, have been charged. Investigators have a new video depicting cruel treatment of children in the kindergarten, a source has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 10, the court decided to place the spouses, the owners of the private kindergarten, detained in Astrakhan in connection with the above video, for two months into custody.

The owners are charged under the article on providing services that fail to meet security requirements. The sanctions under this article provide for up to six years in prison and a huge fine. Over 20 persons have been recognized as victims.

One of the witnesses in the case of children's cruel treatment in kindergarten has provided investigators with a new video, the source said today.

"A kindergarten educator has provided a video, in which children aged about a year or two lie roped on the floor of the toilet, crying and calling for help, shouting 'Mommy.' There are in total five kids in the video; and it seems that they had been lying there for long; they are all in tears," the "Interfax" quotes the source as saying.

According to his story, the arrested kindergarten owners refuse to cooperate with investigators and give no evidence, denying their guilt. Currently, they are in SIZO (pre-trial prison).
