Seda Dudurkaeva put on international wanted list

Seda Dudurkaeva, a daughter of the former head of the Department for Chechnya of the Federal Migration Service (FMS), arrested in Turkey, is suspected of links with militants; she was put on the international wanted list through the Interpol channels, the spokesman of the Russian General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) has announced today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 20 it became known that Seda Dudurkaeva, a daughter of Asu Dudurkaev, a former head of the Chechen FMS Department, was detained in Istanbul on July 4 on suspicion of having ties with the "Islamic State", a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court.

"Dudurkaeva has been put on the international wanted list through Interpol channels with the aim of arrest and extradition for bringing to criminal liability under Part 2, Article 208, of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in an illegal armed formation (IAF))," the RIA "Novosti" quotes today Alexander Kurennoy, the head of the department for interaction with the media of the Russian GPO.

According to his story, the GPO will also send a request for Seda Dudurkaeva's extradition from Turkey, as soon as official information about her detention is received. "Upon receipt of information on Dudurkaeva's whereabouts or detention in the territory of the Republic of Turkey or other foreign countries, the Russia's GPO will immediately consider the issue of sending an extradition request," Mr Kurennoy has explained.
