During the week of September 17-23, 2018, three persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. No wounded were reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.
All three killed persons were suspected members of the armed underground in Chechnya.
Special and counterterrorist operations
On September 16, in the territory of Chechnya, a clash between law enforcers and a group of militants took place in uninhabited area between the village of Bamut in the Achkhoi-Martan District of Chechnya and the village of Arshty in the Sunzha District of Ingushetia. While combing the terrain, special forces fighters encountered militants who were moving along the right bank of the Fortanga River, along its riverbed from south to north. As a result of the armed clash, three militants were killed, and no law enforcers were injured. The killed suspects were identified as Anatoly Khadjiev, a 35-year-old resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, Osmandjon Kochkarov, a 32-year-old native of Kyrgyzstan, and Movsar Aleroev, a 26-year-old resident of Ingushetia. At the place of the armed clash, an improvised explosive device (IED) was destroyed, and apart from it, the law enforcers found three Kalashnikov submachine guns, grenades, and other belongings of the killed suspects, including sleeping bags, medicines, and food. The special forces fighters organized searches for possible accomplices of the killed terrorists, as well as their possible hidings in the mountainous and wooden areas, but found nothing. The information about the armed clash was reported on September 18.
