Members of various Muslim communities forget disagreements for the sake of common namaz in Magas

The Friday namaz (prayer) held in the city of Magas, the capital of Ingushetia, united both supporters of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM), and communities whose Imams are not SAM members. Residents of the republic, who took part in the namaz, noted that such unity is an extremely rare case.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that thousands gathered at the Friday namaz in Magas.

It should be noted that there are many believers among the protesters against the new Ingush-Chechen border. During namazes, the rally was interrupted; and often law enforcers made namaz together with the protestors. Mass prayers during protests are an unusual format.

The participants of the event said that they were surprised by the number and composition of worshipers.

At the start of protests, the head of the republic, Yunus-Bek Evkurov, said that about 25 Imams in local mosques had called on people to go to the rally.

A resident of the republic named Batyr, who took part in the mass prayer, could not recall another example of such unity of adherents various trends of Islam.
