Thousands of people come to namaz in Magas

Residents of Ingushetia have responded to a call voiced by the organizing committee of the rally held against the change in the border with Chechnya and gathered for a Friday prayer in the centre of Magas.

Starting from October 4, Magas hosted a round-the-clock mass rally against the change in the border with Chechnya. Protestors demanded the referendum on the issue of the border and the resignation of the republic's leader. On October 17, the organizing committee of the rally decided to interrupt the action to prepare the World Congress of the Ingush People on October 30, but called on the protesters to come to a prayer at the mosque in Magas on October 19.

Participants of the prayer organized at the place of the mosque under construction filled the entire construction site, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reported from the place. The namaz (prayer) was led by imams associated with the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) in Ingushetia.

After the prayer, all drivers staged a flash mob and started signalling with klaxons in protest.
