Man detained for threatening to blow up building of Armenian government

A man armed with a grenade tried to break into the building of the Armenian government and threatened to blow it up, the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia has reported.

According to the NSS, the incident occurred in the evening on October 27. The police detained the man, who is a citizen of Armenia, born in 1975.

At that moment, when the man tried to break into the building, the acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan was there. Policemen were deployed inside the building; and two ambulances have arrived, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Aren Mkrtchyan, an assistant to the Premier, has stated that "there is no panic in the building"; and the details of the incident are unknown to him, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports referring to the TV report of the Radio Liberty of Armenia.
