A Makhachkala family succeeds in cancelling eviction from home

In Makhachkala, the court confirmed that the decision to evict a family from a residential building was not grounded, the Prosecutor's Office reported.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, in 2011, the administration of Makhachkala declared a house in Herzen Street unfit for permanent residence and to be demolished.

"However, according to tenants, the court declared the commission's acts invalid, since they had been handed down with violations of the law. In particular, no experts were involved in the inspection. In fact, the house is not dilapidated and suitable for further residence of people," reports the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan on its website.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that that in February, after his visit to Dagestan, Sergey Stepashin, the head of the supervisory board of the State Fund for Housing and Public Utilities Reform, demanded to evict Makhachkala residents from the dilapidated house until autumn and said that more than 1300 citizens were expected to move to the new buildings.
