Chechen SC accepts for consideration Gazprom's complaint about debt disposal

The Supreme Court (SC) of Chechnya has announced that the date for consideration of the complaint filed by the "Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Grozny" about the court decision on writing off gas debts from residents of Chechnya will be appointed in the coming days.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 16, the Prosecutor's Office of Chechnya reported that the Grozny court ordered the "Gazprom" to write off the "bad debts of the population" in the amount exceeding 9 billion roubles. The "Gazprom" filed an appeal against the decision. On January 22, the General's Prosecutor Office supported the refusal of the "Gazprom" to write off debts of Chechen residents.

Later, the Prosecutor's Office has removed the amount of the residents' debt from the press release on the court decision. Rustam Amerkhanov, the spokesman for the "Gazprom" administration, and Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov stated that the debt amount had not been mentioned in the court decision.
