During the week from February 25 to March 3, 2019, three persons perished in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus; there was no information about the wounded ones. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.
All the casualties are alleged members of the armed underground in Kabardino-Balkaria.
The above figures cannot with 100 percent accuracy present the number of victims. Not all the data is included into news bulletins; and it is not always possible to check the reliability of law enforcers' statements.
On February 27, the city of Nalchik, the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, was put under the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime. Law enforcers blocked three alleged militants in a private house; they were shot dead in the shootout. The source revealed their names: Arthur Koshev, Aslangeriy Gurizhev and Amir Taukov. According to law enforcers, they were members of the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court.
