Germany detains natives of Chechnya on suspicion of plotting terror act
The German law enforcement authorities conducted a series of searches in a case on preparation of a terror act. According to the preliminary information, three migrants from Chechnya were detained.
The Berlin Prosecutor's Office suspected that several natives of Chechnya aged 23 to 28 years were plotting a terror act, the press service of the Berlin Prosecutor's Office reports today.
"Suspects of Chechen origin are charged with searching for a place to commit a terror act out of Islamist beliefs. During a police search, law enforcers found corresponding photo materials in a mobile phone belonging to one of the suspects," the "Interfax" quotes the Berlin Prosecutor's Office as reporting.
Searches were carried out in four federal states of Germany, including Berlin, Brandenburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Thuringia. The Prosecutor's Office did not disclose the number of the suspects.
According to the preliminary information, at least three persons were detained, the German "Bild" reports today.
