The Grozny police have registered the application about the attack on the journalist, Elena Milashina, and the advocate, Marina Dubrovina. Over the past four years, in Grozny, this is the second attack on people involved in human rights activities with the use of violence.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that late in the evening on February 6, Elena Milashina, an observer of the "Novaya Gazeta", and Marina Dubrovina, an advocate, were attacked in the "Continent" Hotel in Grozny.

The Grozny police have reported that they are examining the complaint submitted by Elena Milashina about the beating up of her and Marina Dubrovina, a resident of the Krasnodar Territory, in the lobby of the Grozny hotel.

This incident was the second attack on human rights defenders in Grozny since March 2016.

On March 16, 2016, about 15 people attacked the human rights defender, Igor Kalyapin, who then also lived in a Grozny hotel. Before the attack, Kalyapin was checked out from the "Grozny City", and had not yet managed to move far from the building. According to an eyewitness, the attackers knocked Igor down, threw two dozen eggs at him, then sprinkled with flour and doused with brilliant green.
